166th Annual Meeting: A Salute to Hollywood

Hollywood was the theme and the “stars” turned out on March 16 at The San Luis Resort. More than 320 guests enjoyed the presentation of
awards, dinner and dancing. Mark your calendar for March 2, 2013 to celebrate our 167th Annual Meeting.

22nd Annual Golf Tournament

The 22nd Annual Golf Tournament was held in August 2011 at the Galveston Country Club. Nearly 200 golfers took part in this time-honored
event. The 2012 tournament will take place on August 27, 2012 at the Moody Gardens Golf Course.

Celebrating Women: Mind, Body, Spirit Annual Conference

Leigh Anne Tuohy, subject of “The Blind Side,” was the keynote speaker for the 2012 Celebrating Women: Mind, Body, Spirit Conference held at
the Moody Gardens Convention Center on May 17. More than 700 women attended the event and heard from many dynamic speakers on a variety of topics. The “Women’s Market” was bursting with shopping opportunities, featuring 79 booths filled with products, services and health information from UTMB Health. Don’t miss the 2013 conference presenting keynote speaker Candace Bushnell, author of “Sex and the City,” scheduled for April 5, 2013.

Galveston County-Wide Mixer

AMOCO Federal Credit Union and the H2o Pool and Bar at the San Luis Resort hosted a Galveston County-Wide Mixer. The Halloween themed
party included entertainment by the Mambo Jazz Kings, complimentary mojitos for the first 200 guests and a costume contest! Businesses
from across Galveston County attended to make new connections and collaborate with one another.

Inaugural Lemonade Day

The Galveston Chamber of Commerce pioneered the inaugural Lemonade Day Galveston in May 2012. This national program is
a fun and experiential learning program where communities across the nation unite to teach youth how to start, own and operate their own
business through a lemonade stand. Approximately 300 kids participated in the event. Get ready for Lemonade Day 2013 set to take place on May 5.
