Galveston Chamber of Commerce leading the state in Governmental Affairs,Education, Business Development

The Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) announced their Texas Programs of the year at their Annual TCCE Conference held in Austin, Friday, October 14. TCCE is the premier organization for chamber of commerce professionals in the State of Texas that enhances professional growth of its members while developing the skills needed to improve the business climate in Texas.

These awards recognize the most outstanding Chamber programs in Texas that have a positive economic impact on the local economy – programs that make a real difference in their respective communities. The Galveston Chamber of Commerce was the big winner bringing home six awards, three of which received the prestigious title of “Program of the Year.”

• Governmental Affairs Category – 1st Place Program of the Year awarded for the Vote YES for Seawall Enhancements SPAC
• Education Category – 1st Place Program of the Year awarded to the Step-Up FOR Education Committee
• Business Development Category – 1st Place Program of the Year awarded for the Membership Benefits Expo
• Community Development Category – Honorable Mention awarded to the C-Crewe (Young Professionals)
• Economic Development Category – Honorable Mention awarded for the Virtual Plan Room
• Small-Business Development – Honorable Mention awarded for the Celebrating Women – Mind, Body, Spirit Women’s Conference

The Galveston Chamber of Commerce also was recognized at the TCCE Annual Conference held in June 2012 for achieving media excellence. The Galveston Chamber took home both first and second place in the category of marketing campaigns for Lemonade Day Galveston and the Celebrating Women: Mind, Body, Spirit Conference, respectively.
